Who We Are
Inspiring Kids, Building Communities:
Our ambitious academic program exceeds Ohio Department of Education Academic Content Standards and our Montessori Method provides gentle instruction along the way to ensure our students are confidently ready for kindergarten.
As the very first Young Explorers school, we've been proud to serve Aurora families since 2002. Our Aurora school opened in a beautiful little century home with 12 students and six staff members. Historically, the home was to the famous painter Archibald Willard, who painted "The Spirit of '76." A year after opening, we added an addition that tripled the size of the school and included an indoor gym.
The Aurora location is a private campus nestled amongst the trees. Our school offers easy access to main routes for parents commuting to work, as well as a private parking lot
Our People
The Aurora Leadership Team
We love learning. We love the freedom to think big, work together, and take risks.

Tiffany B.
Director
I attended Hiram College and received my Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I was a classroom teacher for 13 years before becoming a Director. The thing I love the most about Young Explorers is the family feel that our school provides. I love watching the children grow. From taking their first steps in the infant room to one day watching them get off the bus from their first day of Kindergarten. I love singing, playing board games, and watching movies with my family.

Inside Our Aurora Location
When you enter our Aurora school, you'll feel a sense of warmth and welcome thanks to the cozy features of the original century home. It doesn’t feel like you're walking into a school - instead, you're walking into a home full of family and warm smiles.
Our classrooms are designed with comfort and proper development in mind. Our nursery features warm lighting and a quiet crib area for naps. Toddler classrooms offer child-size furnishings, a door leading directly to the playground, and cozy window seats with built-in bookcases. The preschool classrooms have en-suite restrooms, built-in window seats and bookcases.
Our Aurora location has two levels, with the lower level designed for school age students. A fun twisty slide is available for students (and adults as well) to take down to the lower level.
The home's original kitchen was transformed into a commercial kitchen to prepare healthy meals for the children. Our students love the special homemade snacks made in our kitchen every week.
We follow all ODJFS guidelines.
Our Exterior Spaces
Our Aurora school has two outdoor areas: one for older children and one for younger children. Younger and older areas are separated by a fence that defines the space but still allows siblings to visit each other and get a hug each day.
Both outdoor areas feature a grassy area for the children to play and do activities.
